#Moderation is alllll the rage in the fitness/health/nutrition/fat loss industry, and if you’ve ever ready my emails or social media posts, you know that I’m a huge believer in eating in moderation, meaning no foods is off limits and I can literally have any food I want at any time.
I wholeheartedly believe that, and it’s how I’ve lived my life for the past 3.5 years with lots of success, both from a mindset standpoint (less obsession/craziness around food) and a physical standpoint (20+ pounds down and keeping it off for 3.5 years).
However…
I also think there’s a time and place to put certain foods on the back burner while we zero in and focus hard on our fat loss goals. I call these foods “sometimes foods” and they include things like wine, pizza, candy, donuts, cookies, cake, cupcakes, etc.
When the goal is fat loss, we have to get real about where our focus needs to be and the foods we choose to eat.
Because, yes, it’s always a choice.
We can choose to have all the donuts, crackers, pizza, chocolate and wine we want, but when we do, we lose the right to complain about our lack of results.
If you have a fat loss goals and you’re struggling, I want you to check yourself. What foods are you choosing and where can you improve? Are you making choices that are in line with your goals most of the time, or are you letting yourself slide when you just don’t feel like making the right choice?
And it’s not to say that we can’t ever eat our sometimes foods again, we just have to get really good at picking and choosing when it’s worth it and when it’s not, then get good at balancing our food choices accordingly.
But…easier said than done, right? Lemme help you with that…
